We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Southern Europe District will be opening 3 new Scout Groups in September 2022. With 2 groups being created in Mojacar and Murcia in Spain, complementing our already established and thriving groups already based in the Country. We are also excited to be welcoming a new group also in Bucharest where for the first time we open a 6TH EASTCOTE SCOUT GROUP (BSO) group in Romania.
Our 1st Mojacar group will be led by a former Scout from Scout Scotland while our 1st Murica group will be led by a former UK Girl Guiding Leader. Both lead volunteers have made the move to Spain and have a solid background to deliver a fantastic programme to their groups.
1st Bucharest joins Southern Europe District as the first group based in Romania. Our 1st Bucharest Group will be run with the British School or Bucharest where the school already have an active British Guiding Overseas (BGO) group established. The school are very excited to be delivering scouting and have had a lot of uptake interest for September 2022.

“On the back of the success of our 1st Naples group in Italy, I am delighted that we are welcoming three new sustainable groups across Southern Europe following what was a very difficult period for scouting during covid in the UK and Overseas. Our groups are currently in the process to being operational from September 2022 for the new scouting term.”
