We're delighted today to announce Lucy Bridge as the new Assistant Area Commissioner for Growth & Development across BSO.
Area Commissioner, Nathan said "I'm delighted to be able to welcome Lucy our Growth & Development Commissioner. Lucy is passionate about scouting and having live all over the globe, has a strong grasp of how to BSO in developing in our current and potential communities in bringing the benefits of scouting to British communities living overseas.
I'm sure you'll all join me in welcoming Lucy back to BSO.
Introducing herself, Lucy says;
I joined Beavers as soon as I turned six and have scouted all over the world, including in the UAE, Peru, and Argentina! I found BSO whilst living in the Middle East and have held roles as Explorer Leader, Youth Commissioner and ADC, but currently I'm Assistant Area Commissioner in charge of helping BSO grow its membership. My BSO highlights are making chili con carne for a hundred people in someone's living room, watching my Explorers teaching Cubs how to build rockets, and running Virtual District Camp during lockdown.
I've also spent a lot of my adult life living overseas, but am now based in London, where I teach French and Spanish. Outside of Scouting I play American Football, but mostly I love to hike, camp, dive, kayak and explore the world- all things I learned to do in the Scouts!
