The Scouts are undergoing a digital transformation journey which will result in a step-change of learning delivery in the digital space. The driving force behind the way we deliver this digitalisation of our learning strategy will be a talented team with strong digital skills and a passion for delivering learning experiences. It is our members who will push the BSO digitisation agenda forward which makes it crucial that our Area Learning Team Lead has the change-management and digital skills necessary to lead us on this step-change.
As well as having proven digital skills, the Area Learning Team leader will need to be enthusiastic, innovative and a talented team leader who will effectively manage Learning Team members, Training Advisers, Trainers and Skills Instructors. The role holder will ensure the provision of effective volunteering development within the Area, ensuring our volunteers achieve the skills they need to provide #SkillsForLife to our youth membership. You will also be expected to play a significant role within the wider learning and development community both within BSO and The Scouts to ensure we are delivering the best possible results for our membership.
The role holder will ensure that BSO volunteers have a fantastic learning experience. By doing so, they’ll make it easier for new volunteers to undertake training, to retain and enrich current volunteers and ensure all our volunteers have the skills required to deliver safe, exciting, enjoyable and effective Scouting to our youth members.
You can apply for the role yourself using the application form
The closing date for applications and nominations is 12:00 (GMT) on 21 January 2023.
